CPS – Custom Printed Submarine – is all about creating an open-source underwater drone. We design our drones so that everybody can 3D print and assemble them from scratch, or use our easy to assemble kits.

3D printing enables geometric freedom in our designs. We can print various complicated and detailed parts which would be hard to get with other methods. Since CPS is open-source, everyone can modify the design and 3D print their own parts of the drone.

Using active self leveling gives more freedom in the movement than passive ballast, since the drone can be operated at every angle. Ideally, we want to provide movement in every axis. However, with hydrodynamic design and other factors, the number of motors is limited.

To solve that problem, our drones are equipped with a tilting camera [SPK], which gives even more video and photo taking possibilities.
